Do I need an account?
Not for StatPi Lite. A purchase on the web is kept under your email, so you sign in with it to open the full StatPi on another phone or computer.
Can I use StatPi Lite for the whole course?
If your course stays with one variable and the binomial, Poisson and normal sheets, yes. Most intro courses move on to tests and intervals; that is where the full StatPi comes in.
